Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how seedfallbooks.com (the “Site”), operated by Jonathan Russell, collects, uses, and safeguards information you provide while visiting the Site.

Information We Collect

Mailing list. If you sign up for the mailing list, we collect the email address you submit and use it solely to send occasional updates about new books, releases, and related news.

Send-to-Kindle. If you use the Send-to-Kindle option after downloading an e-book, we collect the Kindle email address you provide (an address ending in @kindle.com). We use it only to deliver the file you requested, and we keep a record of each send so you can resend later and so we can diagnose delivery issues. This record is stored in a database collection separate from the general mailing list record.

Contact inquiries. If you email us directly, we receive the information you choose to include in your message.

Standard server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited for the purpose of operating and securing the Site.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to operate the Site, respond to inquiries, and — if you’ve opted in — to send mailing list updates. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and Analytics

The Site may use minimal cookies or similar technologies necessary to deliver and improve the experience. If we use an analytics service, it is configured to collect aggregated, non-identifying usage data.

Third Parties

We rely on third-party services to host the Site, deliver email (including Send-to-Kindle deliveries), process mailing list subscriptions, and — for the Communication Terminal — generate AI responses. These providers process information only as needed to provide their service.

Send-to-Kindle deliveries pass through our transactional email provider and then through Amazon’s Personal Documents service, each of which processes your Kindle address under its own policy. We do not share your Kindle address with anyone else.

Links to external sites (such as retailers) are provided for convenience. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Send to Kindle

After you sign up and download an e-book, you can optionally have us email it to your Kindle. When you use this feature, we process the following information:

Your Kindle email address. We store the @kindle.com address you provide so we can deliver the requested file and so you can resend later without re-entering it. This address is held in a separate database collection from the general mailing list record and is not added to any newsletter.

Delivery log.For each Send-to-Kindle attempt we record the time, the file sent, the provider’s message identifier, and whether the send succeeded or failed. This log helps us diagnose problems such as Amazon rejecting mail from an unapproved sender.

Transactional email provider. To actually send the file we use a third-party transactional email service, which briefly processes the Kindle address, the file, and a short subject line. That provider processes the data under its own terms.

Amazon’s role. Once the message reaches your Kindle address, Amazon handles delivery to your device under its own Personal Documents policy. Amazon requires you to approve our sender address in your Amazon account before any delivery will succeed.

You can request deletion of your Kindle address and its associated delivery log at any time by emailing the address in the Contact section below.

Communication Terminal (AI Chat)

The Site offers a communication terminal where you can converse with an in-character AI — the fictional researcher Vehn Daelith. When you use it, we process the following information:

Conversation content. The messages you send and the AI’s replies are stored in our database so the conversation can continue across visits. We keep the most recent fifty messages per session.

Session identifier. Your browser generates a random identifier (a UUID) and stores it in local storage on your device. This identifier is how we link a returning visitor to their prior conversation. It is not tied to your name, email, or any other identity information. If you clear your browser storage, a new session begins.

Third-party processing. To generate replies, your messages and prior conversation in that session are sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, which processes them under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not send your email address, name, or any account information alongside the message.

Please avoid sharing sensitive information. Do not enter personal, financial, medical, legal, or otherwise confidential information into the terminal. Treat it as a public conversation with a fictional character, not a private channel.

You can request deletion of your conversation history by emailing the address in the Contact section below, or by clearing your browser’s local storage (which will disconnect your browser from the stored record but not delete it from our database).

Your Choices

You may unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. You may also request that we delete information we hold about you by contacting us at the address below.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
